General(4)
What services does Pluto Technologies offer?
Our four services are Website Development, App Development, Design Services and On-Demand Resources (vetted specialists who join your team). Work ranges from a single landing page to a full product build and the services can be used on their own or together.
How do I get started with a project?
Send us a message through the contact page, book a call, or email us directly. We'll talk through your requirements in a free consultation, then send a written proposal setting out scope, timeline and cost.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes. We are based in the UK and work with clients in other countries too. Meeting times and support cover are agreed at the start of each project to suit both time zones.
What makes Pluto Technologies different?
Design and engineering sit in the same team, so nothing gets lost between the people who plan a product and the people who build it. You deal with the same people from the first call to launch and you always know what is happening and what it costs.
Development(4)
What technologies do you use for development?
We use modern, industry-standard technologies including React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, React Native, Flutter and various cloud platforms. Our tech stack is chosen based on project requirements and best practices.
Do you provide maintenance and support?
Yes. Every project includes a support period after launch, covering bug fixes, updates and security patches. After that, ongoing maintenance and new features can continue on a retainer.
Can you work with existing codebases?
Yes. We can extend an existing codebase, refactor legacy systems, add new features or migrate to newer technology without breaking what already works.
How do you ensure code quality?
Every change goes through code review, automated testing and continuous integration before it is released. Code is documented so your team, or another supplier, can pick it up later.
Design(4)
What design services do you offer?
UI/UX design, brand identity and logo design, web and mobile app design, digital art, marketing materials and complete design systems.
Do you follow design trends?
We keep up with them, but we design around your users rather than trends, so the work still looks right and works well in a few years' time.
Can you redesign existing websites or apps?
Yes, we specialise in redesigning existing digital products. We can improve user experience, modernise the visual design and enhance functionality while maintaining your brand identity.
What design tools do you use?
Mainly Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign), with Sketch where a client already uses it.
Resources(4)
What IT resources can you provide?
Frontend and backend developers, UI/UX designers, project managers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers and remote IT support specialists, from junior to senior level.
How do you match resources to projects?
We start with your requirements, your stack and how your team works, then shortlist people on skills, experience, availability and fit. Every candidate is screened and reference-checked before we put them forward.
Can you provide dedicated teams?
Yes. We can provide a dedicated team, individual specialists or a mix of the two, depending on the project and your budget.
What are your day rates?
Each day rate depends on the role, the person's seniority and the complexity of the work and is agreed in writing before anyone starts. Longer engagements can be priced as a package.
Pricing(5)
How do you price your services?
Every project is quoted individually. Depending on the work, we price it as a fixed-price project, on time and materials, or as a monthly retainer, based on scope, complexity and timeline.
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer (preferred), credit card, PayPal and Stripe. Payment terms are agreed before the project starts.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. Every cost is set out in the proposal. If anything could add to it, we agree it with you before the work is done.
Do you offer discounts for long-term projects?
Long-term projects and retainers are priced to reflect the commitment, so the rate is usually lower than for one-off work. We'll set this out in your proposal.
Do you offer payment plans?
No. Payments are due according to the terms agreed in your contract, usually monthly or at project milestones.
Timeline(4)
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on scope. As a guide, a simple website takes 2 to 4 weeks, a complex application 2 to 6 months and an enterprise project 6 months or more. You get a detailed timeline during planning.
Can you meet tight deadlines?
Often, yes, by adjusting scope, adding people or prioritising the most important features. We'll tell you plainly what is achievable in the time available.
What if the project takes longer than expected?
We tell you as soon as a date is at risk and explain why. If the delay comes from a scope change or something outside our control, we agree the options with you before changing the plan.
Do you provide project updates?
Yes. You get regular progress reports and milestone reviews through whichever channel you prefer, such as email, Slack or Microsoft Teams.
